I love and admire these two ladies a lot. They have both enriched my life in so many ways.

Sig and I are different in so many ways and yet we have clicked. We don't get to see each other a lot but we always meet with fondness and great memories of the times we've spent with each other. Sig and her sister came and visited us in Holland and it was one of the highlights of our time there. We had so much fun. She always share yummy recipes and makes yummy food that I would never think to try. Her yard is a little bit of paradise and is so fun to walk through.

Carol and I are about like sisters. We have been next door neighbors for 18 years and walking partners for about 16 of those years. We've been through a lot of ups and downs together and I can only hope that I have been as great a support and friend to her as she has been to me. She is currently battling stage 4 breast cancer. She has lost all her hair including her eyebrows and eyelashes but today was her final chemo treatment. Yeah!! Her bone scan that was done right before Christmas showed no signs of cancer. What a miracle.

Someone you Would Switch Lives with for a Day and Why

This is a subject that has made me think a lot since I read Mindy and Lindsay's 30 day blogs. There are really a lot of people that I would to trade places with for a day - but I would also have to have their knowledge.

I think it would be interesting to be in a woman in a very public position, such as Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama. I would want to see how they balance busy public lives with their personal lives and what stresses they have. I would like to see the people they associate with and how they use their personal time.

Or,

I would like to trade places with a person in a tent city or refugee camp. I would want to see how well I would cope and what I would do to help improve my life and the lives of those around me.

Or,

A bus driver, a waitress, a librarian, a newborn ICU nurse, an event planner, a tech genius. All kinds of things that I've never done or will never be.

Actually, for most of these, I would really just like to shadow them for a day because I'm pretty happy to just be me.

30 Day Blog - Day 10

How you found out about blogger and why you have one. What is the meaning behind your blog?

When we were living in Holland, I wanted to share my experiences with my family and friends. Doing it by email was a little cumbersome and was a little hard to keep organized. Mindy suggested that I start a blog and so Alyna and Mindy helped me get it set up and learn how to use it. It was a fun way to stay in touch with each other while we were so far away. Now all my kids and many friends have blogs so it is a wonderful way to share the events of our lives without being to intrusive.

Briscoe Family News is pretty self explanatory. My URL comes from a nickname that several of my friends have called me - Nettie Pie. 22 is the age that I thought was the very best age to be.

This group is affectionately known as "The Girls." We served together for four years in the Stake Young Women Presidency. We went through A LOT together - youth conferences, weddings, girls camps, a trek, health problems for ourselves personally and some of our children, a musical, children leaving and returning from missions, and a lot of other large and small challenges related to our calling.

It has been 5 years since we were released but our bond of love and sisterhood continues to be strong. We get together for lunch every 4-6 weeks. We have been able to get together for parties that include our spouses a couple of times this year and we even get away once in a while for an overnighter in SLC. They are some of the greatest ladies I know!

30 Day Blog - Day 8

Something You've Done Lately that you are Proud Of

Hummm. I guess I would have to say getting all the projects I wanted to get sewn for Christmas done on time. I had fun sewing some cute aprons for Lisa and Mindy and some bibs for Ralph and Lola. I got them done about the 10th.
I wanted to get a couple of quilts done but wasn't sure I could really get even one of them completely done. Luckily, I had all of the week before Christmas off work so that helped a lot. Jessica and I sat down on the 23rd and watched a movie while we stitched down the bindings .
